What Are Porcelain Veneers?

A porcelain veneer

Porcelain veneers are thin coverings that perfectly fit over your natural tooth. Whether it’s stains, gaps between your teeth, cracks, chips, or minor misalignment, your cosmetic dentist in Hulen can gently place these wafer-thin veneers over your teeth, and voilà, you have a brand new smile.

What is the Process of Getting Porcelain Veneers?

Having porcelain veneers placed is a two-step process. Although easy, it does require some anesthesia or sedation, as well as two visits to our office. If you’re unsure what to expect, let us explain.

  1. Corbitt will start by administering local anesthesia to make sure you feel no discomfort throughout the process. Depending on your individual needs, it may only be necessary for you to undergo sedation instead of anesthesia. Dr. Corbitt will discuss your options with you during your initial consultation.
  2. To prepare your teeth, she will need to remove a small bit of enamel from the surface of your teeth. This will allow the bonding agent to secure the veneer to your natural tooth.
  3. Once this is complete, she will need to take an impression of your bite, so the lab can begin working on your custom veneers.
  4. As soon as your permanent veneers are ready, you’ll return to our office for your second and final appointment, and Dr. Corbitt will place your veneers, ensuring everything is in place.

There’s no need to be concerned about the size, shape, or color of your veneers, as Dr. Corbitt will work with you to make sure you are happy with your new smile. Once you are satisfied with what your new veneers will look like, she will send your impression to the lab and work with their team to create your veneers just the way you want them to appear.

Cost VS Cosmetic Dentistry: What’s Right for Me?

There are a variety of cosmetic options available to transform your smile. It’s important to consider all of your options so you can choose what’s best for you. Here are some popular cosmetic services we offer and where they stand cost-wise.

  • Teeth Whitening – If you have teeth that are discolored or starting to look dull, professional teeth whitening can lift these stains. Whitening is relatively fast and affordable when it comes to cosmetic treatments.
  • Dental Bonding – Dental bonding is one of the cheapest options out there, and it can usually be treated in a single appointment. However, it is only helpful for minor changes, like reshaping a chipped tooth. The results can last for several years before needing to be replaced.
  • Veneers – Veneers aren’t the cheapest option out there, but they are the easiest way to completely transform numerous aspects of your smile at once. Your time is valuable!

How to Make Veneers Affordable

Veneers are not usually covered by dental insurance because they are considered to be elective. However, we want to make it as easy as possible for you to receive the best care whenever you need it. Our practice accepts MasterCard, Visa, Discover, and American Express. We also offer affordable third-party financing options, including CareCredit. This way, you can split the cost of your treatment into manageable monthly installments with little to no interest.
